South Hook LNG celebrates Pembrokeshire Wildlife in 2017 Calendar

Thirteen schoolchildren from across Pembrokeshire have seen their artwork displayed in the 2017 calendar for South Hook LNG Terminal, as part of the Company’s annual competition.

Attending a recent prize giving at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven, children from schools including Broad Haven, Coastlands, Ysgol Croesgoch and Tavernspite successfully entered a competition, which aimed to celebrate the County’s abundant wildlife.

Linking with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA) and the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales, South Hook LNG invited local schools to visit either PCNPA’s Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre at St David’s, Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, or the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran, for inspiration. The result, is a calendar that showcases the unique artwork of local children and the rich wildlife found across Pembrokeshire.

Mariam Dalziel, South Hook LNG’s PR Manager commented “We are pleased that so many schools took part in the competition, many of which also enjoyed the opportunity to visit Centres that are so important to the education of our County’s natural environment.”

As well as individual prizes for each artist and RSPB vouchers for the schools, the children will also receive a visit by a PCNPA Ranger, who will work with classes to determine how best to encourage a wildlife haven within their school grounds.
