Colourful artwork entered for South Hook LNG’s annual Calendar Competition
The difficult job of selecting just thirteen winning pictures from the hundreds of entries received in South Hook LNG 2017 Calendar Competition, recently took place.
Having launched the annual competition in September, South Hook LNG once again invited local schoolchildren to submit colourful pictures, celebrating Pembrokeshire Wildlife to feature in the Company’s Calendar.
To help inspire children entering the competition, South Hook LNG linked up with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (PCNPA) and The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. Local schools were then invited to visit either PCNPA’s Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre at St David’s, Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, or the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran, for inspiration.
Assisting members of the South Hook LNG team for the judging, were Graham Peake of PCNPA and Nia Stephens of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. Thirteen pictures – one cover image and twelve months of the year- were selected, depicting the varied wildlife that Pembrokeshire has to offer.
“The standard of the entries received, made it incredibly difficult to select just thirteen” commented Graham Peake of PCNPA. “It’s been a fantastic competition, with so many schools taking the opportunity to consider the variety of wildlife habitats and species that we have in Pembrokeshire.”
A prize giving event to celebrate the achievement of the winning entries will be held in the New Year.
Judges from South Hook LNG Terminal are joined by Graham Peake of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and Nia Stephens of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, for the judging of the 2017 South Hook LNG Calendar
