South Hook LNG continues support for Pembrokeshire communities

Outdoor playtime at Little Acorns

Children and Staff of Little Acorns were joined by South Hook LNG representatives to receive a donation in support of their new outdoor play equipment. The charity playgroup, based at the Pill Social Centre and Hubberston Community Centre, was delighted to receive the donation which will ensure the safety of the outdoor play area for the children.

 Pembrokeshire Cancer Support, bolstered by South Hook LNG Donation

South Hook LNG was delighted to pay a visit to Pembrokeshire Cancer Support recently to present a donation of £2000 towards the group’s therapeutic services. Lyn Neville - Charity Co-ordinator, thanked the company for their on-going support.  “We are extremely pleased to receive assistance from South Hook LNG yet again. The donation allows us to continue the relaxation and reflexology treatments for our clients. The donation is a great boost to us all.”

Elvan Akkaya, Acting General Manager of South Hook LNG, highlighted the dedication of the group to the community of Pembrokeshire, “South Hook LNG is proud to support this dedicated charity, their team and volunteers offer an invaluable service to our county, aiding cancer patients and their families across Pembrokeshire”.

 Sensory room makeover supported by South Hook LNG

Pupils and Staff at Pembroke School Autism Centre welcomed South Hook LNG representatives to view the newly refurbished sensory room. The room is a wonderful new resource for the centre allowing pupils an additional space to use, giving them the ability to access increased or reduced sensory stimulus, as required. Head of the Centre, Claire Bullock, said of the donation, “we are really pleased to have this room available to our pupils and it is already being well used, it is a beneficial resource and we are very grateful for the support”.

South Hook LNG’s Acting General Manager, Elvan Akkaya commented ” this donation, awarded by the South Hook LNG Community Committee, is in support of the great work that the centre and its staff are committed to providing for children with Autism. The centre is a valuable resource and we are pleased to offer our help.”

South Hook is Europe’s largest Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal.  Now fully commissioned, it has a processing capacity of 15.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and is capable of delivering up to 21 billion cubic metres (bcm) per annum of gas into the National Transmission System (NTS).
