South Hook LNG and the 2nd Milford Haven Sea Scouts working together

Through its Community Development Programme, South Hook LNG has been able to provide significant funding to the local Scout Group, the 2nd Milford Haven Sea Scouts. The Group is the sole remaining Scout Group in Milford Haven, having formed in 1962. ,

The assistance of South Hook LNG has facilitated a much needed renovation and refurbishment of their premises in Gelliswick Bay. These extensive works include new classrooms, storage space, recreational areas, bathroom facilities and disabled access, alongside improving the safety and security of the building.

The Sea Scout Group is one of the largest youth groups in Milford Haven, having a thriving membership of around fifty youngsters, including boys and girls aged from 6 to 14 in Beaver, Cub and Scout sections. Further, hands-on support from South Hook LNG staff will contribute to the completion of the improved facilities at the Scout Hut and add to the fantastic work carried out by group’s dedicated leaders, parents and volunteers.

Paul Skilton, Group Scout Leader, commented ‘I would like to express our deep gratitude for all that South Hook LNG has done in support of our project. The improvements will make a huge difference to the Group's ability to provide great Scouting opportunities to young people from the local area and in the wider community.’

The improvements made to the Scout Hut are also very much appreciated by the scouts, as expressed by Thomas: "Before we had the work done on the Scout Hut it used to be freezing and equipment used to be everywhere. Now the hut is lovely. We don’t have to wear winter clothes and when we want to do group work we can use the new training rooms.. Thank you South Hook LNG on behalf of us all at 2nd Milford Haven” he said.
