Be Seen Campaign Launched In County

The ‘Be Seen with South Hook LNG and Pembrokeshire County Council’ campaign, launched at St Francis School in Milford Haven, is offering Pembrokeshire’s schools, sports clubs and the wider community Hi Visibility equipment for free.

Every primary school pupil in the County will be given reflective zip pulls or a reflective colour snap band to help keep them safe when they are out and about.

The items offered to the Pembrokeshire community are made from excellent high-visibility reflective material, allowing them to be seen clearly at all times.

Dog walkers, joggers and all road users are encouraged to wear these items in order to be easily spotted by motorists.

Members of the public can pick up the ‘Be Seen’ safety items at their local libraries throughout the County (Crymych, Fishguard, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Narberth, Newport, Neyland, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock, Saundersfoot, St Davids, Tenby, and the mobile library).

They are also available to pick up at Pembrokeshire County Council Customer Service Centres at County Hall (North Wing) Haverfordwest and Argyle Street, Pembroke Dock.

Jim Moffat, Health and Safety Manager at South Hook LNG, said: “Safety is our top priority at South Hook LNG. Being able to support our community, and especially youngsters, to actively recognise the importance of being seen when out on the roads is key. We are pleased to be involved with such an important project.”

Councillor Jamie Adams, Cabinet Member for Highways and Planning for Pembrokeshire County Council, thanked South Hook LNG for helping to improve the safety of children and the general public in Pembrokeshire.

“Being seen is not just important over the winter, but an all-year-round concern for our pedestrians and community as a whole,” he said.
