Safety Success for Crucial Crew Event
The annual Crucial Crew safety event provides local youngsters with an important sense of safety awareness in situations that are commonly experienced. We were pleased to be able to continue our support for Pembrokeshire County Council and all Agencies involved. The event once again succeeded in passing on important safety learnings to over 1,400 local schoolchildren, aged between ten and eleven years.
From the potential dangers of social media, to physical forms of wellbeing, children were guided through a series of workshops focusing on a range of topics from basic first aid, road safety, food hygiene and domestic abuse to beach safety, fire and power line awareness as well as behaviour around dogs. A number of Agencies were on hand to guide children through realistic scenarios in which they need to recognise the importance of staying safe.
The organisations taking part this year were: Welsh Ambulance Service, Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC) Dog Wardens, PCC Domestic Abuse, Dyfed Powys Police, PCC Food Safety, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, PCC Road Safety, RNLI, PCC School Transport, and Western Power Distribution.
