Pembrokeshire schools could win one of the twelve winning prizes of £1,000, as part of the South Hook LNG 2020 Calendar Competition, which this year is challenging local schools to recreate a ‘World Wonder’.

Mariam Dalziel, South Hook LNG PR Manager, said “Over the years, our calendar competitions for Pembrokeshire schools, have inspired hundreds of children to get involved, generating countless pieces of fantastic and imaginative artwork. We choose the competition themes carefully; themes that feed into key curriculum activities, maximising the educational value of the competition, as well as providing much scope for creative fun.”

The challenge for this year’s competition, is for groups of children (three or more) to work together to build a sculpture, recreating one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’. Many lists covering a diverse range of Seven Wonders have been compiled over time, from antiquity to the present day.  These lists catalogue the world's most spectacular natural wonders, wonders of the modern world, wonders of the underwater world, as well as incredible state-of-the-art man-made structures and cities. Sculptures can be made out of anything that suits the build.

Schools are encouraged to get involved, constructing a sculpture that befits their chosen Wonder! The twelve winning sculptures will feature in the South Hook LNG 2020 Calendar.  All entries must be received no later than Friday 8th November 2019.
