25th Jan 22

A former Deputy Head Boy at Milford Haven School, Alex has embarked on a three-year degree in Business Information Systems at Cardiff Metropolitan University, starting the course in September last year. As one of many local students to apply for the Scholarship which, along with a written application, also involved giving a presentation as to future career aspirations, the Award demonstrates South Hook’s ongoing commitment to supporting the educational development of local students.

Commenting on the Scholarship Award, South Hook LNG’s General Manager, Hamad Al Samra said, “We are pleased to have once again, received applications from a range of study disciplines and have been greatly impressed by all of the students that applied.

“Alex is a worthy recipient – a young man who is clearly committed to his studies and focused on applying his skills to a future role in the business environment. We are pleased that South Hook is able to support him and wish him much success throughout his course.”

Commenting on his chosen field of study, Alex said, ““From a young age, I have always been interested in how a Business runs and operates behind the scenes. It is a huge career aspiration of mine to operate and run a business of my own and I strongly believe by studying Business Information Systems, this will further my knowledge and help me to understand how information systems work in a business.
“I would like to thank South Hook LNG again for this very generous scholarship which will massively help me with my studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University.”

South Hook LNG’s Scholarship Programme encourages applications from local students seeking higher education in engineering, science or business-related disciplines. Details for how to apply to the 2022-2023 Award will be available on the Company’s website during October, this year.
