The Land of Song
A rich musical heritage, and a tradition of producing fine vocalists, has earned Wales its reputation as 'the land of song'. Stirring renditions of the national anthem at the start of an international rugby match are a prime example of a nation in full voice. Add to this the country's poetic language, and its awesome natural beauty, and you have an inkling of the distinctive character of Wales and the Welsh.
