What is LNG?

LNG Tankers
Where does the LNG come from?
The LNG arriving at South Hook's terminal in West Wales will be transported from Qatar's North Field gas reserves in the Arabian Gulf.
Qatar's North Field Gas Reserve

Discovered in the early 1970s, 'North Field' covers a total of 6,000 square kilometres - equivalent to about half the land area of the State of Qatar.
It is considered to be the largest single non-associated gas reservoir in the world. Experts have estimated that the recoverable reserves are in the range of 900 trillion cubic feet.
LNG Process
A complex process takes natural gas from its source in the gasfields to the end user. Essentially, these are: Gasfields, Gas Treatment and Liquefaction, Shipping LNG & LNG Regasification.

LNG Tankers
